About the story

A festival at the Circus Maximus means a rare day of leisure and fun for Sabina and her friends. When Sabina loses at her favourite game, Trigon, it sets off a chain of events that takes the friends through the streets of the Subura finding games to play along the way. Will Fortune finally favour Sabina today or will her friends get all the luck?

About the author

Hilary Long graduated with a BA in Classics, MPhil in Classical Archaeology, and a PGCE in Classics from Newnham College, Cambridge. She lives in the Texas Hill Country with her family, and teaches Latin at St. Andrew’s Episcopal School, Austin.
